EXCERPT from googlebooks.com:

A little girl with cerebral palsy recounts her experiences as she starts school.

Rationale for Inclusion: This book provides children with a unique opportunity to learn about children who have cerebral palsy and how it affects their day-to-day lives, including their time at school.  Since cerebral palsy is considered to be the most common motor disability in childhood (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2017), it’s important for children to be able to use this book as a mirror so that they may gain a better understanding about what cerebral palsy is, and what children with this disability have to go through. Having this greater knowledge and understanding can help children to become more compassionate and tolerant in their views, not just toward children with cerebral palsy, but toward all children who may appear different due to a physical disability.
